2. Wooloomooloo Steakhouse – Excellent Australian Beef
Wooloomooloo Steakhouse is the go-to place for classic, high-quality steaks. The fine dining restaurant is aptly named after an Australia destination and specialises in premium Australian steaks. Today, there are a few outlets across Hong Kong and Singapore. The restaurant’s comprehensive menu features a variety of cuts and each steak has been carefully handpicked before making it to your plate.
From Warrnambool, Victoria to Margaret River City Farms, Perth, guests are spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting their steak. USDA Prime Beef is also available, but we urge you to settle for the meat from Down Under. Kickstart your feast with their Australian Wagyu Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio and signature Wooloomooloo Salad. 3. Portico Prime Dempsey – Exclusive Dining Destination
Portico Prime Dempsey is tucked away in former British army barracks Dempsey Hill and hidden in plain sight. The romantic European restaurant is housed in a colonial mansion and offers city dwellers a tranquil respite. While the steakhouse is not easily accessible via public transportation, we say its secluded location is what makes it special.
Several steaks are actually affordably priced under S$50++; namely the Grainge Sirloin (S$42++), Thomas Food Tenderloin (S$48++), Stockyard Wagyu Rump MBS7 (S$45++), Aurora Rib Eye (S$46++) and Aurora Short Rib on the Bone (S$48++). Every steak weighs 200 grams and is served with asparagus, grain mustard mashed potatoes and red wine jus.

4. Museo – Eat BBQ Beef From A Clear Spherical Glass
Situated in Quayside Isle, Sentosa Cove, Museo is an upscale restaurant that you would have to specially travel for. The modern European restaurant is famous for its unique dine-in-a-cup concept, where diners eat from beautiful glass jars. While some might lament its presentation as a gimmicky novelty, we can’t help but to marvel at how aesthetically pleasing the dishes look.
The restaurant houses an art studio, where you can unleash your creative potential on blank canvases (the girls reckon it’s a great alternative to typical boring movie dates). Museo’s BBQ Beef Short Ribs (S$18++) — served with edamame beans, macadamia nuts and green chilli pesto — looks as good as it tastes. However, its portion might be a tad too small for those with bigger appetites.

5. Ash & Char – Enjoy 1-for-1 steak throughout July 2017
Modern Asian restaurant Ash & Char cooks most of its food via charring and grilling, hence deriving its apt brand name. The gastro lounge is within walking distance to Telok Ayer MRT and is a popular watering hole amongst many nearby office workers. A cafe by day and a restaurant by night, Ash & Char’s venue is suitable for any occasion.
